Earth Hour is going to be epic this year, and not just because it's on my birthday :) I'm celebrating early with a special EcoChat Earth Hour event this Monday night. My featured guest is Paula Conrad from ComEd, Chicago's utility company and local sponsor of Earth Hour Illinois.
I may have another guest specializing in climate change also attending the show. More details about that over the weekend. For now, please enjoy this year's Earth Hour video below and read more about ComEd.
EXELON’S COMED TALKS EARTH HOUR ON ECOCHAT
UTILITY COMPANY OFFERS TIPS TO REDUCE YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT
Next week millions of people will power down for Earth Hour, the world’s largest event raising awareness about climate change. Learn what you can do to make a difference and ask questions about climate change during a special Earth Hour discussion on EcoChat, a green web show broadcasting Monday, March 22 at 8pm CT on ecochicago.blogspot.com.
Paula Conrad from Commonwealth Edison (ComEd) will join the conversation to give viewers tips about how to reduce their carbon footprints. She’ll also talk about how ComEd is contributing to the worldwide event as the sponsor of Earth Hour Illinois.
ComEd is a utility company that delivers electricity to more than 3.5 million homes and is owned by Exelon Corporation, one of America’s largest electric companies with nearly $17 billion in annual revenue.
"Earth Hour is extremely significant event because it is a simple message that makes a huge impact across the globe," says Conrad.
So far, more than 100 countries and territories have committed to participate.
